The Right Thing

After having a pretty thorough family home evening discussing scriptures about the events leading up to and including the resurrection of Christ (getting ready for Easter), the kids were getting into bed pretty late so I skipped the scripture reading in our bedtime routine, thinking we'd covered that already for the night. But after I kissed the kids goodnight, Davey came out from his room asking to read scriptures. I tried to explain to him my rationale and get out of it, ready to relax a bit, until he said, "But I just want to do the right thing." Ugh. Why did I have to make him beg me to read scriptures?
